This full Moon takes place at 13 degrees 2 minutes of Leo at 22:08pm UTC on Sunday 1 February 2026. This is the culmination of the cycle that started with the Leo New Moon in July 2025. Was there anything from that time that you began that is culminating around now? This culmination is likely happening under some pressure due to the alignments at play in this full Moon.

An Solas ag Fás / The Light is Growing
A deeply intense full Moon in the sign of Leo. Leo the place to shine and be visible. This Moon however is ruled by the Sun in Aquarius where the Sun is in detriment. The Sun is not comfortable in Saturn’s diurnal temple of the water bearer. A sign that might not be associated with hope but more so the spark of the new. Potentiality is potent in this place in the zodiac. A place to explore the realm that exists outside of the status quo. A place of challenge, a place to reach for our highest potential. What type of potential could this be? Gathering in community to support all or the creating of community to exclude? We need to be cognisant of the type of potential we wish to grow in this place. A place where we may idealise the past or an aspirational future. Aquarius a place of dichotomy and systemisation. How do we wish to systemise and who gets to participate?
Combust
The Sun is not alone and shares Aquarius with Mars, Pluto, the Sun, Venus, and Mercury. Pluto the slow mover is at the early degrees of the sign bringing his themes of power, transformation, death, destruction to this ideal. Mars having lost some dignity when entering Aquarius is just separating from his conjunction with Pluto. A signification of potential violence, power struggles, frustration, and explosive energy. Mars, Venus, and Mercury are ‘combust’ being so close to the Sun. Blinded by the light of the Sun they are being burned up by his rays and their significations becoming more hidden.
Mars is also hot and dry will be harmed less under this combustion and may indeed gain some energy in this instance. Mercury already a dry planet has dignity as triplicity ruler of the air signs which may offer some protection in this case. It is probably wise to bear in mind our words may not land with others as we might expect. Venus is being dried out in this process and does not have the strength to offer the cohesive support of social gel that we might need.
Brú / Pressure
All these cosmic bodies in this sign results in pressure in the Aquarian part of our chart. With Mars, Pluto, and the Sun all co-present we may assert our will or ideas in a dominating way. Venus provides little support and Mercury is not one motivated to keep the peace. Tread lightly and go gently. This time is deeply activating, we may not all be acting from the best parts of ourselves. These feelings may also be turned inward as the planets are combust so please go easy on yourself and others.
Díochas / Urgency
This full Moon may illuminate just how divided some of us are from one another or how divided we are within ourselves. It may become abundantly clear that what some of us believe are steps forward into the ideal others may view as retrograde motions backwards or a return to violence’s that we had hoped would remain in the past. This is likely to play out on the world stage. Perhaps there are parts within us that remain divided, not accepted, unintegrated. Parts we might not be able to see clearly. The parts that frighten us or feel uncontrollable. Those parts that we have been denying come back to remind us that they have not gone away.

We may feel an urgency to act especially now that Neptune has also recently shifted into Aries the domain of Mars. Neptune is retracing his steps from last summer. This second ingress into Aries means that he is here to stay until 2038/9 This part of your chart will be transformed slowly over time in ways that may not be completely clear in the process. We may begin to notice however a distinct vibe shift. A heightening of anxiety and urgency. We’ve not seen Neptune in Aries for 165 years since 1861, the time of the Civil War in America, Italy became a unified Kingdom, and a time of major colonial expansion by Britain and other European powers in Africa (Britain’s annexation of Lagos as just one example).
Spréach / Spark
As the Moon continues through Leo she will oppose Venus and then Mercury after the full Moon occurs. There is a moment for salve and respite to some degree. A dusting of the wounds. This Full Moon is a moment for deep questioning and despite how it may feel is not a moment for supercharged quick change (if you can help it!). It is difficult to wrap up a piece of writing about this lunation because it is also an indication that from here on in things will not be the same again. Eclipses will follow in the signs of Leo and Aquarius, Mercury, Venus, the Sun, and Mars will all come into a square with Uranus in the days and weeks after this full Moon. This culmination is not simply that, a culmination, but a mark in time before the larger changes yet to come. This may be the spark that lights the fire.
