This new Moon happens at 28 degrees 11 minutes of Scorpio at 6:47am UTC on 20 November 2025.

The Moon is birthing in the sustaining sign of Scorpio.  Scorpio is the dark feminine moment when we are in the dark part of the year where the dark is sustaining. It feels like the light will not return. The mornings are dark and the late afternoons are dark in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the season for stillness, return, going inwards, sitting in the darkness to gaze upon the darker parts of ourselves that sunlight does not touch. Scorpio a secretive season that this year has an alchemical rebirth for Mercury in the heart of the sun.

Mars is the ruler of this new Moon from his place in Sagittarius. Mars is not in testimony to the Moon itself but as the Moon is in his domicile he gives it a Martian flavour. Mars can indicate energy, individuation, cutting, courage, bravery. In Sagittarius Mars is particularly concerned with the wide expanses that freedom gives in the Sagittarian realm of the zodiac. This is the point halfway through the Mercury cycle where Mercury is receiving a symbolic deep cleanse or burning off from the rays of the sun. Mercury began the retrograde co-present with Mars in Sagittarius. Now Mercury returns to the Mars ruled domain of Scorpio for their moment of rebirth and clarity. This is a new Moon cycle carries deeply personal messages to us. These may be new ideas or fresh clarity about something deeply personal to you in your Scorpio house along with new messages or information garnered from your Sagittarius house.  

This new Moon and Mercury cazimi is applying to an opposition with Uranus. The Uranian factor of ingenuity, liberation and buzzing energy is big and growing with this new Moon.
