This full Moon in Capricorn is not one for the faint hearted. The Moon is full at 8 degrees 14 minutes of Capricorn on 30 June 2026 at 00:56 UTC. This lunation feels weighty, there may be choices to be made, struggle and conflictual desires all wrapped up together. Think back to what was seeded at the Capricorn New Moon earlier this year in mid January for a hint of what might be culminating right now.

There’s a sense of running quickly into a wall with this one unfortunately. We may feel a burning desire to race ahead but there is something that we must attend to first. It is something that is necessary and cannot be avoided. It might also show up as feeling like we’re running out of time to get something done. Don’t attempt to push through this it’s not the time to do so.
The Moon is not comfortable in Capricorn. She is said to be exiled from the place she can act in accordance to her nature which is Cancer. This detrimental position for the Moon can mean a variety of things. The Moon does not act as she would normally. She might feel hindered emotionally or physically in this place, the home of Saturn.
The Saturn that is managing this Moon is himself uncomfortable in Aries. The sense of frustrated energy for both planets is palpable. The Moon and Saturn can see one another in a motivating square but it unfortunately feels more like locking horns rather than support. The Moon is setting the agenda from the bound and decan of Jupiter. An over inflated sense of optimism runs into an external force and stops us dead in our tracks (thanks Saturn).
Iompú á Dhéanamh / Turn in the making
Mercury is co-present with the Sun and an exalted Jupiter in Cancer. Mercury is about 3 degrees from making a conjunction with Jupiter but they have stopped dead. Mercury has stationed and will turn retrograde after the full Moon retrograding back through Cancer until 23 July. The station of Mercury could look like a change of mind or a moment of pause as part of the lunation. The requirement to stop and slow down for a second look is strong. What is the tone of our thinking? Mercury is retreating back into the beams of the Sun so this reconsideration will be internal, for now.
While Mercury begins to trace his steps backwards through Cancer Jupiter leaves the sign moving into Leo. Jupiter in Leo is no wall flower. In Leo there is a need for recognition, for the spotlight. Jupiter is strong and vital in Leo being a triplicity ruler of the fire signs. Expect inflation all round until the south node joins the party at the end of July. Mercury has turned away from Jupiter but they will reunite in mid-August. Something lost during the Mercury retrograde may reappear at this time. News or a message may come forth relating to the Mercury retrograde in Cancer. For now there is likely a feeling of an “almost, but not quite”.
Mars will have entered Gemini just before this lunation perfects. Mars at 0 Gemini is applying to his conjunction with Uranus which occurs exactly on 4 July. This is an explosive aspect with a real possibility for destabilisation and upset. It is highly energetic and motivating. A powerful push to break free of something or to cut ties. This excessive energy is pushing Saturn in Aries to move forward quicker than it might wish. It is definitely a time to be extra careful with anything sharp in the days around 4 July. Watch your fingers!
Tarraingt na Téide / Tug of War
Though the desire to surge ahead is strong now remember that longevity is not achieved quickly. It is the slow build that creates the solid foundations. We are being called to pay careful attention to the details before moving forwards. It will be worth putting in the work, taking it slow and attending to our lives gently and with purpose. If we take the chance now to go through the process of building we will be rewarded in time. This full Moon feels like a character building stretch of patience.
Resist the urge to get something over and done with. There is a feeling that dealing with something quickly will free you from it entirely. Unfortunately that does not appear to be the case with the planetary pattern of this lunation. Pause, take your time. Try not to struggle against this, you will not win. Instead be conservative with your choices.

The great turn and change is coming. There is a pattern forming in the sky this summer being referred to as Barbault’s basket. Andre Barbault was the French Astrologer who predicted that there would be pandemic in 2020. He unfortunately did not live to see his prediction play out as he died in 2019. Another of his predictions is a positive change for humanity beginning in July 2026.
“It is the most benefic configuration of the century and its interplanetary partnership will work for the best in a splendid relaunch of civilisation”
You will see the thick lines in the chart drawing out a basket shape. There is flowing energy through the trines and sextiles linking Pluto to Neptune and Uranus, Neptune to Uranus and Jupiter and Uranus to each of them. Pluto and Jupiter are opposing one another. All planets are at 4 degrees of their respective signs. An unusual and exact configuration.

Barbault also notes that between 2026 and 2028 the world will see a new great phase of technological growth that is altruistic in nature. We have yet to see the altruism of it but this could certainly point to the explosion of AI. Perhaps we are on the cusp of a more considered or humane approach to the technology that will serve us and the planet rather than the other way around. We can only work to that end and see how the future unfolds. If you wish to learn more consider reading his book Planetary Cycles Mundane Astrology.
